Cow Horn Guitar Plectrum (Tortoiseshell Substitute)

Out of Stock

Item Description

  • Guitar plectrum made from genuine cow's horn
  • Cow horn is a very similar material to your fingernails and therefore is hard wearing and gives a nice warm sound
  • It's also probably the closest you will get to real tortoiseshell.
  • As with many natural materials, the colours (and even the curvature to a degree) will vary, each one being unique.
  • Comes in one gauge - thick. * PLEASE NOTE YOU ARE PURCHASING A SINGLE PLECTRUM*

Great piece of kit, these sound you get from these is quite different, and in my opinion, considerably better, than plastic picks - this is why tortoiseshell was the preferred material until the trading of it was made illegal, and also, why now, many plectrum manufacturers try to make tortoiseshell-like plastics.

I don't use anything else with my acoustic, the mellow sound and the solid, confident feel are perfect. Maybe not a huge difference for the beginner but if you are at the stage where sound and feel are important, I would urge you to try one of these.

Just to be clear, you are buying one, single plectrum.
The photo shows several to demonstrate the kind of patterns and colours to expect.
